MCO & Ramadhan 2020 🌙

Assalamualaikum, and hi!

Day 42 of Movement Control Order (MCO).
Hari ke 42 Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan (PKP).

Ramadhan Kareem to all Muslims. I hope youre in a pink of health, bestowed under His blessings and mercy 💙

The world is facing a pandemic, covid-19. A contagious and deadly virus started at the end of 2019. Malaysia is enforcing MCO for two weeks initially, because the symptoms of the virus can be identified after 14 days in human's body. But the government is extending the MCO for few times now, for good reasons. MCO is not a lockdown, get the difference. People can still move, to go out and get groceries done. Essential services is also allowed to open, but controlled. Limited from time to time. One person per family to go out to buy things. #StayatHome #SocialDistancing

How are you doing? 

I am with Seth, my brother at home. Just us. Bapak is at Ipoh with Dina, and my other brothers and sisters are everywhere all around world. Keeping them in my prayer each time, safe and sound. This is my second Ramadhan of not being able to be fasting, sahur with Bapak. Last year, because I was away. This year's, because of a pandemic. To everyone who have the chance to be with your whole family, be grateful and dont forget to count your blessings. Because some people dont get that.

Our university had decided to do an online learning, instead of extending the semester. This is the third week of online learning. At the beginning of MCO, we had our one month of mid-sem break. And it was the best time of my life 😭😭 As an occupied girl, I rarely had time for myself, I am always on-the-go with tight schedule, of studies and work. If I dont have classes, I'll be working, and vice versa. So I am really grateful that I finally had TOTAL FREE time at home, for a month.

I dislike online learning tbh, but if its for the better, I'd go for it. Besides, there are good things for online learning!
  1. I dont have to drive back and forth Shah Alam to Subang. Save more time than being stucked in the traffic. And that also means save more money for petrol!
  2. More time at home, means I can care for my cats better than before, took them to vet, check their temperature etc. Since the virus now is also contagious to the animals. 
I'm happy that I managed to do so much during this quarantine period.
  1. Alhamdulillah. managed to khatam Quran on 7th of April 2020. Will try one more time for Ramadhan, may Allah ease. 
  2. I learned to cook! Self-declaration; I can cook now! hehe Seth approved my cooking every time, the taste is always okay, but the presentation... uhh will need to work on that more.
  3. I love grocery shopping so I am the one who does the grocery shopping every week, on Tuesday (no-stress day). My weekly routine is going to Mydin USJ1 on Tuesday, in between classes. 

Someone asked me this years ago, and tadaa, I can cook now 🥳🥳 

Kari ayam, ayam masak kicap, sup ayam, sup sayur, sayur goreng, nasi goreng, mi goreng, kueytiow goreng, tauhu telur, sambal tempe, sambal sotong, spaghetti sardin, spaghetti bolognese, carbonara and aglio olio. Butterchicken, Just simple things, but A LOT OF DIFFERENT MENUS! Seth's favourites are spaghetti aglio olio, sup ayam and kueytiow goreng by me. We took turns to cook, for butterchicken, he's better. Level Jibril SS15! 😋

For Ramadhan, I woke up at 4AM everyday to cook for sahur. Seth always prepares the stuffs the night before, so I can start cooking as soon as I wake up. And since online classes started, we started working again. Frontliners gitu. Tealive is open for delivery and take-aways only. Since the business hour is from 11AM-7PM, we started closing the shop at 7, and we had just a sip of bubble milk tea for iftar, and continue working. Usually, rushed home for Maghrib, then I cook and we'll have proper food only after Isya'. Exhausting tho. But its okay, this will be remembered. 

Alright, I guess that's that for now. I finished my class at 9AM just now and will have next at 2PM. Its Tuesday, grocery shopping day! Off I go.

So I can recall and relive the moment.  Some day in February 2024, while I was casually waiting in front of the Immigration, Putrajaya for settling my client's case, like always, I used the time to record a video.
