Life comes with a cost, syariah first semester!

Assalamualaikum, and hi.

Last Sunday, we have finished our final exam. That being said, first semester of Postgraduate of Diploma Syariah & Practice, done. Our last paper was Mal Procedure. Second toughest subject that I thought after Usul Fiqh. And true enough, those two were indeed, the toughest for most of us.

But I am grateful that I decided to pursue this. Going to class every Saturday, learning about Syariah matters, kind of feels like going to usrah or some religious class every week. Our schedule was like:

8AM - 10AM : Mal Procedure. To me, it's a boring one, just about the Syariah's Courts Procedure, Parties and Proceedings. The technical. 

10AM - 12PM : Islamic Family Law. Interesting! It's about engagement, nikah, divorce, wali, mutaah and all Islamic family matters. 

12PM - 2PM : Islamic Judiciary System. So-so. I love it, especially the part where we learn about our Prophet Muhammad's history back then. It feels like gaining and knowing about him more.

Then we have 1 hour lunch break to have quick lunch and Zohor prayer.

3PM - 5PM : Islamic Jurisprudence (Usul Fiqh) actually the toughest subject for me because most of the terms are in Arabic. But if I can give a reason to love it, is because we are learning Al-Quran & Hadith. Our lecturer will recite ayat and explain the meaning behind it. It can be really heart-touching that I didn't realise 2 hours passed by so fast.

Another break for Asar and Maghrib! Last class is at 7PM!

7PM - 9PM : Syariah Criminal, my favourite subject! I love learning about Jenayah, I know I have so much passion for it. Like other subjects, apart from learning about it, it serves as a reminder too. In this generation, there are so many things that are being normalised, like khalwat, male posing as woman, prostitution, arak and more. 

I personally think that everyone knows what is haram and what is not. But I am grateful that with this Syariah class every week, somehow I feel like being reminded every week. Human being, with our forgetful nature. 

"Mereka telah melupakan (tidak menghiraukan perintah) Allah dan Allah juga melupakan (tidak menghiraukan) mereka. Sesungguhnya orang-orang munafik itu, merekalah orang-orang yang fasik."
Surah At-Taubah ayat 67

Nauzubillah, may Allah protect us all, and if we are astray, may Allah guide us back to Him.

Anyway! I heard that some of my classmates wish to defer next semester. Because honestly, it is hard. Balancing work and studies. I am only lucky that Seth's has taken this course last year, my strong support system, my future family in law, and the fact that I am doing this with my best friends, and my housemate. Indeed I couldn't make it if it weren't for these people. 

We have done our best, and we leave it to our God. I'm not sure when the result will be out, but let's pray that we will be strong enough to complete the final semester, so that we can finish what we started.

The next day, I have a submission to file in to Court of Appeal, Putrajaya. Criminal case, two actually, one on Preliminary Objection, and the other is Main Appeal. The hearing date will be on 24th February 2025, next Monday.

May we all stay true to ourselves, and keep on living to please Him. Be it about our daily life, work and everything we do in between. Because all in all, the purpose of this life is to prepare for the next, we can have a great life, but at what cost? Learn as much as we can, and live life according to what Islam has teaches us.
