Me, 2019

Assalamualaikum, and hi!

This post is going to be a long one, this has been in my draft list so long.... here’s me introducing myself. My name is Laila, I am 21 years old this year. I am astounded myself that I actually love to write since I was 16,,, 5 years ago and now I start to write again. Lets hope that I can keep this pace and be consistent to keep this blog alive okay 🥺🥺

I am a second year law student at UiTM Shah Alam. With Seth! My brother or people be mistaken us for twins.. 😂🥱🤦🏻‍♀️ Okay, trust me, I wish I can tell you what happened for the past 5 years. There were so many things I encountered, so many people I met, few that came but didnt stay but I'm looking at the positive side, I have so many things to be grateful for! ✨💫

For the past years, I enrolled in UiTM Dengkil for my law foundation studies and I got a place for degree. Along the way, I had gotten the experience of working at Food and Beverages Industry (F&B) like Subway, Baskin Robbin and Fat Cat Cafe as a barista. I dislike coffee but that did not stop me to learn more about coffee. Managed to pull through latte art (not THAT perfect but I did quite ok) Before F&B, my first job was as 7-Eleven cashier. Just in front of my house. Walking distance.

⛔️ 7-Eleven USJ 4 🔋🩹🧸from January to May 2016 (stopped because I was tired of talking to the wall) because had to work alone, convenience store tings.

⛔️ Subway, Taipan Subang Jaya. 🍪🌯🥪🥖 After two months of doing nothing, I remember it was Darwisyah's 18th birthday. We went out to Aeon Shah Alam and I told her of me getting new job. Oh if youre wondering, I did not get any UPU result (I rejected Matriculation Johor), thats why I have not continuing my studies. I applied for rayuan basically 2016, I did not study anything (in terms of reading books etc), but I sure did learn lifetime experience though, so I was not just wasting my whole year doing nothing. Okay continue! So it was random and Darwisyah suggested me to go try Subway, and I did. She waited in the car whilst I was completing the form. There, I met Kak Najwa and Farhan (supervisors), Haziq, Salsabila, Aidil, Haiqal (now married with one baby), Aidil and Putera. THEY ARE AMAZING FRIENDS ISTG 🌟🌏😭🤡🥑  Never thought of still contacting till now but hey, God's plan. They are such a blessing for taking care of me and Salsabila like their sisters. I cannot imagine how my life would be if I did not work at Subway. (August to November 2016) stopped because I get to enrolled in foundation.

Oh I sure want to make a post just to tell you guys about who is Darwisyah, and Salsabila. 🌸💃🏻 (next time! hope I keep it as a promise).

⛔️ Next, Baskin Robbin, Damen Mall, Subang Jaya 🎂🍦🎂🍦 Not as best. Maybe because Subway had given so much fun so the expectation was TOO high. i worked there during my semester break. Was thinking to apply again at Subway but my friends were not there anymore, semua ada jalan masing masing. Baskin Robbin, was so-so. I had like 3 friends but stopped contacting. And the manager... oh my god. I cannot stand him...

⛔️ Fat Cat Cafe, Jalan Klang Lama, Kuala Lumpur 🧇🍖🎂☕️🍰🍦🍓🌭🍳🍮🍵 from 2017 to 2018. Not continuously because the boss there, Mr Maverick was so nice, he allowed me to stop working if my semester starts and call me to work whenever I have my semester break. I work there with Kak Najwa! She texted me first when I was on my semester break because the cafe is desperate for staff. That's why Kak Najwa was willing to take me to work. Kak Najwa fetched me from home every single day and send me back home every single night by bike. God bless her kind soul 😭😭 At first Bapak was worried because, bike.. none in my family was permitted to ride a bike! But I convinced him (kinda rebellious) that sooner or later I have to face my fear (bike was one of it tbh) because I need to work and this is a bright chance! Alhamdulillah Bapak was convinced eheekkkk 😈😈  I decided to stop because I don't want to trouble Kak Najwa more, I mean even when its her off day, she had to wake up early to send me to work, and back and forth at night to fetch me. She never said I troubled her but of course I know I troubled her ☹️ the boss there was very kind because I kind of demanded to raise my pay (with excuse of I had many experience in F&B industry) which he agreed. Also, he and his daughter (the manager there, Stephanie) treated me so well, celebrated my birthday, appreciate my work, recognised my handwriting (they said I have a very nice handwriting) 🥳🤩🤪🥰







Okay, on 5 August 2016, I had my braces on! On my own! Went to the dental consultation with Yub and decided to to set appointment for the placement and done. I supposed to take it off already in March 2019 but because Im here in Indonesia, I had to postpone it till I came back.



Yes, I'm in Surabaya, Indonesia. I joined the Exchange Students Programme organised by my uni. It is for one semester. Means I am having my semester 3 of law school at foreign place. I have never been outside of Malaysia other than Brunei because that is Mama's place. And because I am running away from my problem in Malaysia, I thought I needed time and space... Drama Melayu sangat XDD. Basically there are few reasons why I decided to join this programme. Anyways, I'll be home before raya and I will be surprising Bapak because he thought I cannot join for raya as my finals will be during raya week. But we applied to the uni for taking our finals before raya because our VISA. And I didnt tell Bapak because I never had the chance to surprise Bapak like my other siblings did. Hopefully it'll work. Now is Ramadhan month, I'm fasting. It is a nice experience but of course Malaysia is better. Just that, we break our fast at 5-ish PM here so it doesn't feel long. Sahur is at 3 something and yes... I don't always take sahur and if I did, I'm alone because the other are not waking up. Or they don't prefer to take sahur idk.

What else I should be telling. Oh! Muhammad Afiq. will make another post just for him. (hoping I will)

So I can recall and relive the moment.  Some day in February 2024, while I was casually waiting in front of the Immigration, Putrajaya for settling my client's case, like always, I used the time to record a video. The day before that, a case went viral for the Federal Court's decision; Nik Elin v Government of Kelantan. As someone with law background, my followers always ask me on viral cases. I usually refused to comment nor create content about it since I understand an opinion from an outsider can affect the proceeding of a case, even though you are a lawyer.
